Yep, I definitely need a new brain. Let’s face it, I didn’t have the deluxe model to begin with and after 38 years of grinding those gears, the whole apparatus is threatening to seize up! Or explode. Oh no! Little holes appear daily to swallow up those important things like um…whatchacallit? Oh yeah, vocabulary. And the reason I walked into the next room. And reason I sat down and pulled up Google. And what was I going to make for dinner?
Yes, my brain needs help. My filing system needs help, too:
Or should I say I need a filing system:
The clutter on our desktop is like a microcosm of the clutter of my life. Do you notice a theme here…in sight in mind! My little ADD brain very easily forgets what I was going to do with something…or that I even have that something in the first place. Having it in plain sight is a constant reminder, much like a post-it note---I have bad luck with post-its, though, they always seem to migrate, usually on the bottom of someone’s little foot.
If you’ve read my blog lately, you know that one of my goals this year is to simplify my life. And one of the hurdles I’m faced with is how to organize what I have so that I use it fully. As a homeschooling mama of four kiddos, my days are filled with the organizational challenges of coordinating curricula for a preschooler, a kindergartener, and a 4th grader, while keeping the baby from climbing out of her playpen and investigating the properties of electricity by sticking her fingers in the outlets (and knocking over my “filing” system along the way, ahem).
Isn’t she super cute when she’s being bad?
Add to this our technology-filled world with oodles of cool, free internet resources to supplement our studies and the already overloaded state of our desktop’s hard-drive (and the fact that I can’t find what I’ve already got on it) and well…clearly I need some help.
Do you think this could be my new brain?
The HP Mini 110 weighs a little over 3 lbs and comes loaded with Windows 7, which seems to be designed just for scatterbrains like me. It has little doodads like Pin (“pins” things to your taskbar) and Jump Lists. They’re like electronic post-its! They’re there when you need them, but not cluttering your desktop and tying up your memory when you don’t.
The Mini 110 is small enough to carry around but the 10” screen and full-sized keyboard should keep me from having to squint at my e-books or relearn how to type. I can take it with me anywhere, even the library (or I can hide in the closet and still have wifi!). The femme design will keep my 9-year-old computer super geek from walking off with it. What a cool tool for getting myself organized and keeping all my stuff together. Who could ask for more? Would you like to win one? I know I would! Mom Bloggers Club is hosting a giveaway. Three mama bloggers will each receive one of these new brains to help them simplify their lives. And three readers will also be randomly selected to win one! To be eligible to win, all you need to do is leave a comment below. Pretty simple? Good luck, everyone!
Deadline is midnight EST, January 20, 2010.

Wow! I am impressed that you can maintain your calm trying to homeschool 3 and take care of a baby too! Kudos to you girl!
Good luck in the contest.
A HP Mini 110 would simplify my life by allowing me to keep up with all of my computer activities (blogging, emailing, entering contests, social networking, surfing the Internet, etc.) when I'm not able to be on my laptop (which just so happens to be a HP) for whatever reason. With 4 kids, the reason I'm not able to be on my laptop could be anything! :O
A mini would definitely simplify my life because I wouldn’t have to lug around that big heavy laptop anymore!! And it would fit inside my handbag instead of being so conspicuous in a carry around laptop bag. And besides, you don’t always want to carry your laptop with you but leaving it in the car is a direct invitation to thieves to break in and steal it. Being able to carry it in my purse is a major advantage! Great giveaway!
good luck! I would love one of those too :)
I would like it because it the the perfect size to take with me wherever I go
I have to do a lot of traveling and I use a friend's extra laptop while I'm on the road. It would be great if I didn't have to use his and didn't have to carry such a big thing through airport security!
I love this mini.... so darn cute and easy to carry with you anywhere!
How wonderful!
It would be perfect for on-the-go computing.
My life could use some simplifying too!
I don't know that it would simplify my life, but I would still like one.
Good luck!
Oh, this looks really great! I can't believe they pack so much into such an itty bitty machine!
Great post, and I DO think you deserve one! I would also love to win one, so sign me up for a chance. :)
I need a new brain, too. Would this one fit in my purse if I won? Not that it matters, I can always get a bigger purse! Would love to win it!

Great post! My filing system looks a bit like that.
Hoping that you're in the top 3.
Don't you hate it when things go flying out the window of your brain? Ugh!
A laptop mini definitely would be a great addition to our household too.
I need one or two of these! Then I could write my reviews in bed instead of at the desktop...hehehe. And blog from the kitchen while I'm cooking dinner.
Good luck!
I would love one too. A second computer in the house would be wonderful.
Hahahaha! Your computer desktop looks like mine. I need to do some digital housekeeping!
Good luck winning the HP Mini!
I would love a laptop! I have been wanting to get rid of this desktop and have a laptop only to give me more space in this little apartment (I won't need a desk for the computer then!), and also to take on the road with me once I start being an active midwife!
Fun fun!! Hope you can be in the top three!
Cute post and yes, she does look cute when she's being bad. ;) Good luck!
Something this small would be really convenient for me since I need a computer for work and it is light enough to take on the bus which I use to commute every day. I could check e-mails & bills on my commute. My old laptop was actually stolen recently so I would love a new one! Good luck!

Man my life could use some simplifying! I would love to be able to write my blog posts on the go or during lunch breaks. Now if the HP Mini 110 could help me get my daughter to sleep through the night, I would be in LOVE (even more!)
Please enter me in the contest! I'd appreciate an HP Mini 110 to use alongside my homeschooler w/ autism. (Add some voice recognition typing software and we'd be good to go!)
I would LOVE to win the HP Mini. I need to organize and simplify my crazy and busy life. Crossing my fingers in hopes of winning.
Sounds like we could both really use it! Good luck to us both.
This would be great! I'd love to be able to work on the go, like while I'm waiting for the kids to finish piano or dance lessons.

I think you need one! lol
So, do I! Good luck!
Hugs,

I would love to win this. It simplify my life so much! Good luck!
Here's hoping you win!
I am in the process of trying to start my own business and I currently work from home...but I rarely stay in one place with my laptop. As I suffer from degenerative disc disease in my cervical spine - coupled with a heavy laptop - changing my "workspace" throughout the day is NOT an easy task.
The HP Mini would simplify my life by allowing me to move my computer from place to place on my own...no more bothering the rest of the family! This netbook would be a true lifesaver!
Thanks so much!

I entered also. It would simplify my life by helping me get organized! Wishing you luck... and hoping for some luck myself!
The picture of your desktop reminds me of mine! It would be nice to have some extra memory:) Hope you win!
Here's to simplifying your life and organized files, lol. *Ü*
I would love a new computer. Thanks for this chance.
Good Luck to you! I blogged & entered, too!
This HP 100 Mini netbook would be a blessing to our family, as we only have one old desktop to share amongst our family of 7. We rely heavily on spreadsheets, lists, email and schedules, etc. to streamline our day to day activities, and the portability of the HP 100 mini would make it so effortless and stylish. Plus, mobile computing would be perfect to pass the time--when time seemingly stands still--like when waiting in a doctor's office!
Good Luck!

a hp mini would be an awesome pc to have thanks for the chance to win eaglesforjack@gmail.com I love the size
OH, YOUR desktop looks like that, too??
And just wait~ as they get older there are more programs.
An HP Mini would certainly help to simplify MY life as well... the ability to not be in the cramped corner in the dining room where our desktop currently resides~ Hope you win, and hey, I wouldn't mind if we did too! :)
Oh, I would love to simplify things with this nifty gadget!
You are giving Kimberly R. a run for her money. Great post. Good luck to you, too.
You have the same filing system I do! Good luck with this--I hope you are a top 3. :)
This would be so nice! I've never had a laptop before. The ability to surf the net from the couch (or anywhere for that matter) would simplify my life beyond belief. Good luck everyone :-)
